Worksheet variations

A central angle has its vertex at the center, and it measures the same as the arc it cuts off. An inscribed angle has its vertex on the circle, and it is half of its intercepted arc. So an inscribed angle is also half of the central angle that stands on the same arc.

  2. An inscribed angle is half its arcx = 1502 = 75
  3. Answerx = 75

Common mistakes to watch for

  • Setting the inscribed angle equal to its arc instead of half of it.
  • Halving a central angle to get its arc.
  • Doubling the wrong side of the equation.

FAQ

Why is an inscribed angle half the central angle?

Both open onto the same arc, but the inscribed angle's vertex is on the circle, farther from the arc. The inscribed angle theorem shows it measures exactly half the arc.

What is special about an angle inscribed in a semicircle?

It is always 90°, because it opens onto a 180° arc.

Is every worksheet different?

Yes. Numbers are generated each time, and the answer key is calculated for that sheet. Swap any single question and its answer updates too.

Can I mix inscribed and central angles with other skills?

Yes. In the generator, add more skills; each gets its own section on the sheet with its own instructions.

Is it free to print?

Yes. Generating and printing from the browser is free with no sign-up. PDF downloads need a free account.
