Bar model
Blank tape diagrams, two to four per page, split into 2 to 6 equal parts if asked, with an optional bracket marked ? for part-whole and comparison problems.
How to use it
A bar model shows a whole as one bar and its parts as sections of it. Students draw the bar to match the problem, mark the unknown with a question mark, and use the bar to see which operation to use.
Ask students to label the bar before they calculate: what is the whole, what are the parts, and which part is unknown?
