Area model grid
Blank area model grids for multiplying 2-digit and 3-digit numbers, with place-value headings or without, one to four per page.
How to use it
An area model splits each number into place values, so every box holds one partial product. Students write the parts across the top and down the side, multiply each box, then add the partial products for the total.
Start with the blank version and ask students to write the place values themselves before they fill in the boxes.
