Worksheet variations

Compare the hundreds first: fewer hundreds means a smaller number. Numbers with the same hundreds are sorted by their tens, and then by their ones. Write the numbers with < between them for least to greatest, or > for greatest to least.

FAQ

How do you order numbers made from the same digits?

Compare place by place from the left. With 345, 354, 435 and 453, the hundreds sort them into two groups first, then the tens decide within each group.

How do you avoid mistakes when ordering four numbers?

Find the smallest (or largest) first, write it down, cross it out, and repeat with the rest. Check the direction the question asks for: least to greatest or greatest to least.

Is every worksheet different?

Yes. Numbers are generated each time, and the answer key is calculated for that sheet. Swap any single question and its answer updates too.

Can I mix ordering three-digit numbers with other skills?

Yes. In the generator, add more skills; each gets its own section on the sheet with its own instructions.

Is it free to print?

Yes. Generating and printing from the browser is free with no sign-up. PDF downloads need a free account.
