Whether you homeschool full time or just want to support what your child learns at school, middle school math can feel like a moving target. Fractions turn into ratios, ratios turn into equations, and a gap in one place shows up three units later. Short, regular practice is the most reliable way to close gaps, and it does not require a new curriculum.

Below is a routine you can start this week using printable worksheets with answer keys, so you do not need to be a math expert to check the work.

Principle 1: Short and daily beats long and weekly

A sheet of six to ten questions takes about fifteen minutes. Doing that four or five days a week gives a child far more repetitions than one big weekly worksheet, and it is easier to keep up. Short sheets also mean mistakes get noticed the same day, when they are still easy to fix.

Principle 2: One skill at a time

Choose a single skill for the week and stay on it. For a sixth grader, that might be dividing fractions or unit rates. For a seventh grader, multiplying and dividing integers. For an eighth grader, laws of exponents. Browse all skills by grade on the worksheets page.

A sample five-day week

  • Monday: learn. Read the worked example on the skill page together, then do a level 1 sheet. Aim for confidence, not speed.
  • Tuesday and Wednesday: practice. A fresh level 1 or 2 sheet each day. Because the numbers are generated every time, there are no repeats to memorize.
  • Thursday: stretch. A level 3 sheet, or mix in a second skill from earlier in the term to keep older material alive.
  • Friday: check-in. A short mixed review. Count how many were right and decide whether to move on or repeat the skill next week.

Checking the work without being a math person

Every worksheet comes with an answer key calculated from the sheet itself. Sit down with your child and compare. When an answer is wrong, the Pro plan's step-by-step keys show each stage of the working, so you can see exactly where it went off track. Ask your child to explain the first step they took; that conversation is usually more useful than the correction.

When to move on

A practical rule: if your child gets at least eight out of ten right on a level 2 sheet without help, move on to the next skill. If they miss several in the same way, go back to the worked example and drop to level 1 for a few days. You do not need to hit every skill in order; use the grade pages to see what is covered and pick what your child needs most.

Printing and costs

You can generate and print as many sheets as you like from the browser for free. If you prefer a downloaded PDF, a free account includes five downloads a month; Pro removes the limit and lets you save sheets to reuse or share with another family or co-op. See pricing for details.

Preguntas frecuentes

How long should daily math practice take for middle school?

About fifteen minutes, or six to ten focused questions on a single skill, is a good daily amount for grades 6 to 8.

Do I need to know the math to check my child's worksheet?

No. Each worksheet has a computed answer key, and Pro adds step-by-step solutions so you can see where an error happened.

Can I print worksheets at home for free?

Yes. Generating a worksheet and printing it from your browser is free with no sign-up.
